Who’s “Iron Girl?” and Why Is My Story Worth the Read…

Hi!!! Welcome to my FIRST blog posting!! My name is Andraya Fetzer (for those of you who don’t personally know me), and I couldn’t be more excited to finally get this blog up and running! I’ve been wanting to start writing down and sharing my story for some time, however, life has a way of simply getting away from me!

Excuses aside, I have NOW taken the first step to putting together, what one might call, the “skeleton” of a true blog.  This, in essence, is a platform for me to share my daily experiences throughout my fitness journey to becoming an IFBB Figure Pro, as well as enlightening many as to how I manage to multitask being a single mom, NPC figure competitor, and personal trainer.

Why “Iron Girl”?  The origin of my last name, “Fetzer,” is rooted in the German word ‘vetzen’ meaning “to tear or SHRED.” So…

The first two letters (of my last name) “FE” or Iron + the fact that I’m gonna TEAR up this journey to IFBB Pro = the birth of “Iron Girl”! Cheesy? Maybe! Silly? A Little. Creative? I think so! Fitting?? ABSOLUTELY!! 🙂 🙂

This is MY story, and I live life as a truly positive person. However, I am REAL and human. So, if you are reading this blog, over time…you might see that rare moment when I’m moody because someone rubbed me the wrong way on the wrong day. Or you might read of a moment when I’m down because my daughter had a rough day. Or, you will very likely catch a glimpse of me during peak week when I’m not at my finest! However, that’s part of what makes this experience SO FUN! It’s REALLY ME…and you can see EXACTLY the road I’m taking to reach my goals!

The most important job I have is being a mom to my daughter! So, everything I do is to show her that women can be strong, independent, confident, and positive role models! Family means everything to me, so balancing this life is truly a skill, and one that I’m not sure can be “mastered.”

So, that being said…if you are interested in my daily life and journey, ramblings, and quirky stories…this just might be the place for you to check from time to to time. I hope you enjoy this as much as I think I will!
